Upland Appoints New Head of School

Upland Country Day School Appoints Andrew F. White as 15th Head of School

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, announce that Andrew F. White will be joining Upland Country Day as its 15th Head of School on July 1, 2026.

Mr. White comes to Upland from Friends Central School in Wynnewood, PA where he is currently serving as Middle School Principal, a division of 185 children in a K-12 school with total enrollment that exceeds 880 children. In that capacity, he has served on the senior administrative team and has been responsible for all areas of campus life including mentoring and supporting faculty, curriculum development, partnering with parents and cultivating campus culture. Andy has also been extremely involved in enrollment management, the development and review of student conduct policies, budgeting, and auxiliary programming. In addition to his administrative duties, he has remained active in the classroom as a teacher and
advisor.

Upland’s focus on the 4As and educating the whole child resonated with him and attracted him to the position. “At the heart of the “Four A’s” is Attitude, and I believe that starts with a leadership style that is both visionary and pragmatic. A Head of School must be a skilled Chief Executive who ensures the school’s long-term vitality while fostering a culture of joy and collaboration,” he wrote.

The Board-appointed Search Committee has been engaged in an intense and rigorous national search since January 2026 to find Upland’s next Head of School, supported by the advice and guidance of our consultant Carney, Sandoe & Associates. We are pleased to report that interest in the position was very strong and the applicant pool deep and talented, reflecting both the high regard in which Upland is held in the independent school community and our confidence in the School’s future. We could not be more pleased that Andy White will be joining Upland Country Day, and we look forward to introducing him and his family more fully to the community over the next several months.
