Upland Appoints New Head of School

Upland Country Day School Appoints Andrew F. White as 15th Head of School

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we welcome Andrew F. White as Upland Country Day School’s 15th Head of School. Mr. White began his tenure on July 1, 2026.

Mr. White came to Upland from Friends’ Central School in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, where he served as Middle School Principal, leading a division of 185 students within a K–12 school with a total enrollment of more than 880 students. In that role, he served on the senior administrative team and was responsible for all areas of campus life, including mentoring and supporting faculty, developing curriculum, partnering with parents, and cultivating campus culture. Andy was also deeply involved in enrollment management, the development and review of student conduct policies, budgeting, and auxiliary programming. In addition to his administrative duties, he remained active in the classroom as a teacher and advisor.

Upland’s focus on the Four A’s and educating the whole child resonated with Andy and attracted him to the position.

“At the heart of the Four A’s is Attitude, and I believe that starts with a leadership style that is both visionary and pragmatic. A Head of School must be a skilled chief executive who ensures the school’s long-term vitality while fostering a culture of joy and collaboration,” he wrote during the search process.

The Board-appointed Search Committee conducted an intensive and rigorous national search beginning in January 2026, supported by the advice and guidance of Carney, Sandoe & Associates. Interest in the position was exceptionally strong, and the applicant pool was both deep and talented, reflecting the high regard in which Upland is held throughout the independent school community and the confidence others share in the School’s future.

We are thrilled to have Andy leading Upland and look forward to the energy, experience, and vision he brings to our community.
